Head of Product
As our new head of product, you will lead the product organization and take electricityMap’s products to the next level to accelerate the energy system to a zero-carbon future.
Our mission is to organise the world’s electricity data to drive the transition towards a truly decarbonised electricity system. electricityMap has two products: a commercial API, and a free app. The electricityMap API is used by companies worldwide to reduce their electricity footprint and build new product offerings. It is e.g. used by Google to reduce the footprint of their datacenters, used in Google Cloud to showcase users the footprint of their cloud usage, and integrated in many other applications to empower and engage users. Meanwhile, the electricityMap app provides real-time insights on web and mobile for citizens, energy experts, NGOs and policymakers promoting a deeper understanding of energy transition challenges.

About the role
As Head of Product, you will be responsible for taking electricityMap’s products to the next level. You will collaborate both across teams internally as well as engage with clients and partners to understand and deliver on complex data requirements and customer needs.
Specifically in your role, you will
- Lead the product team (consisting of design, engineering and data science) by defining the production direction
- Own and communicate the product strategy and roadmap
- Define and revise the organisational structure of the product team as needs evolve
- Interface with Sales to ensure client and partnership success
Expect to be involved in day-to-day product development by shaping and scoping feature requirements with the engineers.
About you
As an ideal candidate you have
- Previous experience leading a product team
- Excited to operate at both a strategic level (product vision and roadmap) as well as on an operational level (functional requirements, team organisation and so forth)
- Experience working closely with data teams, asking questions, and challenging the status quo
You might also have
- Previous experience with DaaS products (data-as-a-service)
- Experience and knowledge of the energy sector
- Experience working with data pipelines, machine learning or real-time data feeds
